Religious Statement

AHA is not directly tied to any religion and is open to students of all religious backgrounds.  Aspects of various religions and mythologies will be discussed, and there is a humanities section on analyzing the Bible.  Students are required to engage with the religious texts as pieces of literature that offer insight into life but are not pressured to profess belief or adherence to a certain religion.

We believe in Jesus’ maxim that the meek shall inherit the earth.  In Greek, the word translated to English as meek means something like being a skilled swordsman but choosing to keep your sword sheathed.  This is true power.  Thus, we will not be sheltering your student and will be covering material that gives your student an education in the ways of the world and prepares them to be a lion and not a bunny rabbit.
