Alexander Kennedy
Founder & Humanities Director
I have spent my entire adult life in the education sector. I have a BA in secondary education history from DePaul University in Chicago. After college, I taught US history at Waubonsee Community College, Aurora campus. In addition to that, I have also worked at DePaul’s athletic academic advising center and have been a substitute teacher at various local high high schools. Outside of education, I am the chairman of Stamp Act Pac, a local grassroots organization that advocates for Constitutional rights and governmental accountability.
Tika Haake
Founder & Math/Science Director
I graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, along with being a D1 athlete (gymnastics). After college, I worked for several years in R&D, manufacturing, and management in various cutting edge, bio-engineering technology companies. In 2007, I opened CarpeDiem Academics to pursue my passion teaching and life coaching teens and young adults through their formative developmental years. In the last few years, I've also transitioned to homeschooling my 4 kids and began short-term property development.
